AUXILIARY PROGRAM
OBJECTIVES
To provide an equal
opportunity for all young people interested in the fire service a
chance to train and work as apprentices towards a full-time position
of Firefighter in the future.
To provide additional
apprenticeship personnel to support and enhance current daily fire
department operations at minimal cost to the City of San Marino.
To provide a recruitment
process that shortens the time to fill a vacancy in the full time
firefighter / paramedic ranks.
To provide a recruitment
pool that is pre-qualified and pre-screened for filling
Firefighter/Paramedic vacancies.
To reduce the cost of
recruitment, selection and training of new firefighters.
